Hot water
Your hot water is provided via a central heating system, instead of individual systems at each apartment. This service is billed separately to your electricity bill.
For many of our residents, this way of accessing hot water may be a new concept. As your hot water consumption is being pulled from a single source, each home’s usage is metered and billed accordingly.
We’ve invested in heat-pump technology, which economically heats water by taking advantage of external warm air. Electricity consumption is generally 60 to 70% less than a conventional electric hot water system. This is due electricity being used to operate the heat pump rather heat the water directly via an element.
Hot Water Pricing
Each home is metered separately for hot water usage and will be billed accordingly. Billing will consist of three components:
a hot water usage fee (cents per kWh) - this covers the amount of water you consume and the cost to heat that water, and
a daily supply charge (cents per day)- to maintain and administer the centralised hot water system
The hot water utility provided by Assemble Connect is a centralised service. As a result it is a ‘non contestable’ utility. This means that to receive hot water at your property it must be provided by us.
